Welcome to my Blog!

The purpose of this blog is to share my knowledge, experiences, documents, LABs I am working on and other stuff which I came across with on my journey to become Network Professional. Maybe you are asking yourself who I am…

Well, my name is Tom. I was born and I live in small country in Central Europe called Slovakia. My journey to become Network Professional started in 2009 when I started to study Information and Network technologies at Secondary Technical school for Electricians. During studies I came across with multiple technologies such as Linux and Windows servers, programming in C, C++, Arduino, Web technologies (HTML, CSS) and Cisco. And this was the time when I fell in love with networking. After 4 years I passed the school-leaving exams and got Cisco CCNA Routing & Switching right after that. My longing to know more about networking didn’t end there. That was the reason why I applied for Technical University. At the University I studied Telecommunications field and I extended my knowledge of other IT and communication technologies. After 3 years I completed my Bachelor thesis which dealt with FSO (Free Space Optics) systems and I became Bachelor in Telecommunications. Yet, there was not only nice time. Problems occurred when my father died. Therefore, I had to find some part-time job to be able to pay all school bills and successfully complete the University. Fortunately, I got the part-time job in ABB company where I worked as IT administrator. I have got perfect opportunity to get some experience with real problem solving what helped me in future jobs. Few mounts before the master’s degree examination I decided to change this job to more senior, so I started to work as Network Engineer in AT&T. I spent all my free time to complete my diploma thesis. The result of my work was programme (in Python) which was able to define current extent of visibility based on images obtained from camera of Raspberry PI.

Finally, I finished the University and I became Master of Science in Multimedia and Communication Technologies. Furthermore, I had 2-year experience in IT field. Currently, I am 1 year after University and I just started new position within AT&T in Architecture & Design team.

As I have learned more from people I was surrounded by, I would like to share my knowledge with you in hope that maybe it can help you on your own journey.

Thank you for stopping on my blog! I hope you enjoy it.

Best wishes,
